How to get to the Gold Coast

Climate
Late January is the middle of Summer in Queensland, so the climate will be very warm during the day and very very pleasant during the evening. On "the coast" at the time of the conference, the weather will be "beautiful one day, perfect the next". You can expect an average top day temperature of 28C, dropping to approximately 22 - 24 C at night (i.e., 20-28 C; 68-83 F). As they say on the coast, "Beautiful one day, perfect the next". The Saturday Banquet, for example, will be beside the ocean, by the waves, on a warm Summer's night...

Connections
Ansett Australia are the sole domestic airline for our conference. They are a strong supporter and sponsor of the Griffith University and we ask you in turn to support them.

Ansett Australia flies into both Brisbane and Coolangatta Airports. All domestic and international flights into Brisbane airport are serviced by Airporter buses, which will deliver passengers to their accommodation for approximately $25, alternatively a taxi service from Brisbane airport to Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus, is approximately $90. Limousines can be arranged and ordered through Ansett Australia and will take multiple passengers.

For those wishing to drive north from Sydney or south from Brisbane, the Gold Coast is on the Pacific Highway. The Gold Coast is well serviced by train from Brisbane and interstate bus companies.
